Driving Range Fun

My parents have told me a few folks collect the driving range balls for both practice and game play. Perhaps they need this sign.

While we were down there in June, they took my sons to the driving range a few times. They came back to the house telling me how well they did and how I should be enrolling them in golf lessons and a camp. My youngest "has a natural powerful swing and makes a perfect divot every time!" I smile and think it's cute. Then the last day they go, my youngest runs in carrying a golf ball that has part of its cover removed and he's absolutely excited because he declares he hit the ball so hard that the cover came off! I'm like, holy guacamole Tiger Woods! Then my father tells me when the children are out of earshot that the ball is the byproduct of a lawnmower running it over. Doh! Well I'm not telling my youngest for a long long time. He brought the ball back home to Seattle to show his father and all his friends and the smile of pride and the reenactment he gives of the ball-breaking swing is priceless.

My buddy Chris used to make hundreds of dollars a day collecting balls...now he's a falsetto.

I watched Andrew Zimmern's "Bizarre Foods" last night. He was in Chile on a ranch and they were first castrating the bull calfs and then eating the scrotum and testicles. Yow! =)
