I just read what the DNC plans to do with Michigan and Florida /sigh. It greatly disappoints me that rules are changed after everyone has agreed up front what the rules will be. Remember in the old movies when two men would shake hands and say "my word is my bond" and such. Yeah, we're obviously not there anymore.
As for me, we've had a veritable sickfest around here. My youngest had a bad 102 degree fever for 3 days, then my oldest got some virus and he's been out of school for a week sick. Then Friday night I came down with what I think is flu - 101 fever, chills, body aches. I'm able to get around this morning yeah! But still not great.
When I went to the Mother's Day parties at my sons' school, there were a number of kids there that shouldn't have been. One kid had pink eye, one had so much snot it was ridiculous, others coughing their brains out. How do parents send their kids to school in such a state? Don't they realize that just spreads it to everyone else? I think for the Mother's Day thing it was because some of the moms didn't want to miss their kids singing or whatever. Seems selfish to me. My sick arse thanks you.

Election & Me

Glad to see you survived.
I'm by no means a germ freak, but nothing pisses me off more than people who are stupid enough to bring their diseases to work or school. Its the height of being inconsiderate.
I guess for some working parents who can't manage or afford time off, dropping a diseased kid off at school is their only option. But you would think that schools would provide a sort of isolation classroom for the sick kids so that the whole school doesn't become infected. (Rubber gloves and face masks are good option too).
As far as the Democrats FL/MI decision, I thought it was a fairly good compromise given the circumstances.
I'm afraid it was worse than I thought. I have viral meningitis - lucky me! Just waiting out the terrible headache and fever/chills as there's nothing to be done.
I agree with you cul that for some folks it is because of working parents who can't afford to do otherwise. But I don't think that's the case as often where my kids go to school.
Since they opted to now include Florida and Michigan, I think the half vote was the correct solution. If they had been given full seating, that would be really bad imho. It sets bad precedence and opportunity for shenanigans down the road.
I just read she's willing to be VP. Think it'll happen?
