So my choice for President, John Edwards, came out in support of Obama yesterday. He's released all his delegates and it appears many are throwing their support in Obama's direction. Seems like it's a clincher for Obama now no? I'm not really sure what H. Clinton is thinking by not withdrawing at this point.
Obama has said he is considering both Edwards and H. Clinton as running mates. I don't think there's any way it can be Clinton. I just don't see her willing to accept that role, but perhaps I'm wrong. It could just be the stance she is showing because to admit you'd be willing to be VP pretty much screws the politics of you being the President (this time around). In some ways, being VP would set her up for a potentially easier chance at President if all goes well in the term(s). She would also be the first female VP for those that are concerned with that issue.
I really like Edwards and what he stands for, but I don't know if Obama will pick him up. Everything I read references a possible cabinet position. We'll just have to see what happens.
Then McCain came out saying that the Iraq War will be pretty much wrapped up by 2013. Pundits think it's odd that he's giving a timetable that he can be judged against. I think it's a perfect tactic myself. Most of the country is against this war and want our troops out. You have Obama on one side who was against the war and has said he will start withdrawing troops. McCain's sound bites make it sound like we'll be in the Middle East forever. So the timetable helps him argue that he will be removing troops in a few years too - when we've won and not a minute before. This can help assuage those that want the war to end but are nervous about immediate withdrawal and/or think we can win.

Is McCain using gypsy psychics to predict the future? He's just making shit up... If we could "win" the Iraq war militarily, we would have done so already.
