Does This Sound Racist to You?

Bill Maxwell (ha, I dated a guy named Bill Maxwell in high school, but that's another story), an Opinion Columnist for the St Petersburg Times, wrote Phony Black Friends Ditch Clinton. That title itself is pretty inflammatory, but the piece is even worse.

Excerpts:
"Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should be leery of ever trusting the word of another black person, especially the word of elected officials, celebrities and other elites. She most certainly should never again trust the word of black preachers."
and
"Win or lose, Hillary Clinton has earned the right to never trust the word of another black person."

What the ...?

My comments for the online debate:
So any blacks that are supporting Obama are race traitors I guess. And blacks can't think for themselves. Gee, what else would Mr Maxwell like to add to the blanket statements saying "you can't trust them black folk!"

To which someone replied that for Obama to get 90% of the black vote, it was obvious it couldn't be for the issues - that it had to be race.

My response "90%? That is misleading because that was his numbers out of Mississippi - not overall. Clinton got 76% of the white vote out of Mississippi - how come no one is saying they voted based on race? Because a 76% skew, wow how could anyone get that kind of support rate based on differing postions on issues alone?Look at those statements and tell me that they don't EXACTLY personify racism, prejudice, bigotry. He keeps saying never trust the word of another black person. Hello!? A person or a small group doing something and projecting that to a whole race is racism. Ladies clutch your purses because a young black male is walking by. Watch the black people in your stores for stealing. A black person who got a job had to get it from affirmative action. These are the very generalizations at the heart of prejudices in this country and this person has the audacity to say that because maybe some black people are voting for Obama because he is a black man that you can not trust any black people! Really disgraceful piece."

Seems absolutely totally obviously postively racist to me.
